This is a true mystery lover’s book- Swanson references a lot of the greats in the genre like Agatha Christie and Patricia Hightower and draws inspiration from their books to shape his story. The stakes rise when Kershaw admits he knew one of the victims but chose not to share that with Mulvey. I just finished Peter Swanson’s latest, Eight Perfect Murders, and couldn’t resist compiling the list of all of books the author mentions in the novel. In 2004, Malcolm Kershaw, the narrator of this outstanding fair-play crime novel from Swanson ( Before She Knew. ![]() Cain’s Double Indemnity and hopes that Kershaw can give her a lead as to who might be using his list for a campaign of bloodshed.
